InnovaCare Health CAO Penelope Kokkinides Meets with President Trump to Discuss Healthcare

The Chief Administrative Officer of InnovaCare Health Penelope Kokkinides has recently attended a meeting at the White House to discuss healthcare with the President. During this meeting, she talked about how Puerto Rico can receive better healthcare. She met with the President to discuss new legislation that can improve the healthcare policies and procedures on the island. Penelope has also met with the CMS Administrator Seema Verma at the Women in Healthcare Panel at a roundtable discussion. Kokkinides was one of several women who was invited to a panel to discuss healthcare along with other executives and professional caregivers. One of the main things she discussed at the meeting was getting increased funding in Puerto Rico for the Medicare Advantage plans. The plan recently suffered a $1 billion cut that is much more than what other states have gotten.

During the meeting, Kokkinides has said that the current administration through CMS has considered making changes to the Medicare Advantage payments that could help get Puerto Rico out of an unfavorable situation. Penelope is hoping that the Trump administration increases funding for Medicare Advantage and fixes the cuts in spending. She believes that this is the responsible thing to do in order to enable Puerto Ricans to receive the best possible healthcare available. Along with improved medical care, increased funding can also prevent a total collapse of the program in Puerto Rico and force people to move to the United States where costs will be much higher.

Penelope Kokkinides is the current chief operating officer and chief administrative officer of the healthcare company InnovaCare Health Solutions LLC. As the CAO of the company, she provides the daily management of the company by supervising all of the company’s operations. Prior to working at InnovaCare Health, Kokkinides worked at Aveta Incorporated and served as the Chief Operating Officer. She was also the COO of another company known as Touchstone Health HMO Inc. Penelope has over 15 years of experience managing healthcare organizations that specialize in government programs and managed care. Along with being the chief operating officer of a few companies, she has also served as the corporate vice president for Care Management and Disease Management at AmeriChoice. In terms of her educational background, she received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Binghamton University and a master’s degree in social work from New York University.
